Surgical services at The Children's Medical Center of Dayton offers inpatient and outpatient surgery for children from birth through age 21. The unit offers single rooms for families and patients before and after surgery. Families appreciate this added privacy as well as TVs, VCRs and Nintendo in every room. The department performs more than 12,000 surgical procedures every year. The staff includes specialized pediatric nurses, pediatric anesthesiologists and surgeons, and other staff trained in pediatrics.

Outreach and support services

Just for Kids presurgery tours - Children scheduled for surgery and their families are invited to attend a tour of our day surgery area. Parents and children both find this helps relieve their anxiety about the upcoming surgery. In addition, they can get answers to their questions and reassurance for their concerns.
