New fax number for pediatric surgery
The department of pediatric surgery recently received an updated fax number for referrals - the previous fax will no longer work. The new number is 937-641-3107. Please fax all referrals for pediatric surgery to this number.

New sports medicine clinic
Beginning August 27, the orthopedics department will begin offering a sports medicine clinic to provide assessment, treatment and follow-up care of sports-related injuries to infants, children and teens. Young athletes will receive a multidisciplinary approach to care from board-certified pediatric orthopedists and physical therapists. The sports medicine clinic will be held on the second and fourth Wednesday afternoon of each month, on a walk-in basis.

Type 2 diabetes camp openings in October
Camp Tiponi, held at YMCA’s Willson Outdoor Center in Bellfontaine, has several openings for the October 19 to 22, 2008, type 2 diabetes camp. This is a residential camp for youth ages 8 to 17 with or at risk for type 2 diabetes. Children are referred by physicians at Dayton Children’s or any other pediatrician who feels they may benefit from the program. For more information, call the lipid clinic at 937-641-4675.

Grand rounds online now more convenient
For your convenience, you are now able to submit your grand rounds post-tests and evaluations entirely online – they no longer require a fax machine. There are now 21 sessions available through grand rounds online. This program allows physicians, nurses and other health care providers to watch recorded grand rounds sessions from their home or office computer at their convenience.
